Tributes have been paid to a father-of-two who died after his motorbike collided with a car in Enfield.

Rory Mondesir-Payne, 27, was driving his new blue and white bike on the A10 Great Cambridge Road when the incident happened last Thursday.

Paramedics were called at 12.50pm but despite their efforts to save Mr Mondesir-Payne’s life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Mondesir-Payne was nicknamed Bashy, which is slang for looking good, because he was always known to look stylish on his bike.

Fellow biker and friend Faron Paul, 26, said: “I’m just in disbelief. After I found out I just kept hoping someone would call me and say they’d been some mistake. He’d only had the bike he died on for two weeks.

“He was all about his kids. He was a loving person – quiet and polite. Riding bikes was something he did his whole life. He was one of the best riders out of all of us.  He had the skills of riding.

“No-one will forget about him.”

And to make sure he is always remembered Mr Paul and other friends are making a banner and T-shirts reading RIP Bashy and Biker Legend in commemoration.

They plan to hang the banner on a railing near to where the incident took place on the A10 to alert other drivers to be “biker aware”.

Mr Paul said: “There should be a slip road to prevent further accidents. Something needs to be done otherwise there will be another accident. We want people to stay safe.”

No arrests have been made.
