A story about the second attempted abduction on school girls was the most read story online and on social media in 2014.

The Enfield Independent’s annual web figures revealed that 66,974 read the story about the two 11-year-old girls being pursued by a man and woman in Baker Street on October 22.

The story also drew the most attention on social media platforms with 27,211 views coming on Facebook and Twitter.

No arrests are yet to be made as a result of the attempted abduction as police investigations continue.

The first attempted abduction in Enfield nine days earlier on October 13, drew in the second highest number of readers online with 31,859.

The incident in Southbury Road saw two girls, 11 and 16, almost abducted.

The third highest viewings during 2014 saw six places in the borough with a zero food hygiene rating according to the Food Standards Agency named and shamed.

The fast food outlets in urgent need of improvement attracted 26,018 views online.

Social media platforms were also hungry for more as the story was viewed the second most of any Enfield Independent story on social media with 17,648 views.

A story naming Khiry Ford as the victim of a street fight in Haselbury Road, in Edmonton, was the third most viewed story on social media.

, with the story named Mr Ford attracting 10,725 views on Facebook and Twitter.
