Pupils' behaviour was rated ‘outstanding’ in a school's Ofsted inspection.

Bishop Stopford school, in Brick Lane, Enfield, was given a ‘good’ overall rating earlier this month - with particular praise being given to pupils at the school.

Inspectors said: “The behaviour of pupils is outstanding. Students are extremely polite and respectful.

“They treasure the excellent relationships they enjoy with each other and their teachers. Students’ conduct is exceptionally calm and ordered. Older students point to the way this has improved significantly since the arrival of the headteacher.”

Elizabeth Wolverson, director of school support at the London Diocesan Board, said: “Bishop Stopford’s has improved rapidly in recent years. It is now a good school with a proud record of serving the community.

“Parents of primary aged children would do well to consider the academic benefits that the school could offer their children in a calm and orderly environment with secure Christian values at the heart of its being."
