Those concerned about the increase in violent crime in the borough will get the chance to speak with the head of met police tomorrow.

Commissioner of London’s police force Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe will be answering questions at a public meeting in Aylward Academy, in Windmill Road Edmonton from 6.30pm.

Recent figures show violent crime has soared in Enfield over the past 12 months with 18 offences taking place every day.

Figures from the police showed London had a three per cent drop in homicides, yet the borough saw a sharp rise of 250 per cent to seven in the past 12 months, the joint highest in the capital.

Sir Hogan-Howe will also speak about policing in the capital and the future for the service as it faces further cuts.

There will be a limited number of seats at the event, with doors opening at 6pm.
