A man has been convicted of killing a father of two after a street argument last year.

Sean Gomez was found guilty today (Wednesday, July 27) of the manslaughter of 47-year-old Mustafa Lanleyin, and will be sentenced on Friday.

On September 29 at around 9pm, Mr Lanleyin had gone out with two friends. As they were walking in Cherry Road, Enfield, he argued with Gomez, of Addison Road, Enfield, asking him "what are you looking at?"

This escalated quickly to violence, with 48-year-old Gomez grabbing Mr Lanleyin and repeatedly head-butting, kicking and beating him, even as he fell to the floor.

Gomez then dragged the dying Mr Lanleyin to near some bins, and left the scene with the victim’s friends.

A woman found Mr Lanleyin shortly after and called an ambulance, but he was pronounced dead at 9.41pm.

Mr Lanleyin, of Cherry Road, Enfield, was described by police as an unemployed “street drinker”, who was single and did not live with his step-daughter and a son.

A post-mortem established cause of death as “blunt force trauma to the head”.

Gomez was arrested the next day and charged on October 1.
