A group of young dancers, rappers and singers staged an anti-violence performance at Millfield Theatre last weekend.
On Saturday (July 23), the Young Soldierz performed under the banner of “say no to guns, knives and gangs amongst young people” – the tenth year they have performed at the theatre.
Dr. Pat Agdomar, organiser of the event, said: “The whole occasion was an overwhelming success and I am particularly pleased that we could bring our message of anti-guns, knives and gangs across to such a wide and diverse audience.
“When I looked at the crowd every community was present and that's what we are aiming to achieve with our unique message”.
The group recently staged a march against violent crime, from the Florence Hayes playground to Latimer All Saints School on June 4, which attracted over 300 people
Patricia Agdomar, a member of the Young Soldierz, said: “The evening was awesome and the theatre was packed out with at least three hundred people cheering us on.”
John Smith, a member of the audience, added: “I paid eight pounds for my ticket and I certainly got more than my monies worth.”
