A teenager charged after a car was stolen with two children inside it will appear at the Crown Court next month.
Martin Cawley, 19, was arrested by police on Tuesday, July 19, and appeared before Highbury Corner Magistrates Court two days later.
Cawley, of no fixed address, has been charged with kidnap, child abduction and aggravated taking and driving away.
It was decided the case was too serious to be heard before magistrates, and it has been referred to Wood Green Crown Court, where Cawley will appear on August 18.
On July 2 in Kempe Road, Enfield, a 27-year-old woman left her Vauxhall Astra, with her 12-year-old daughter and 11-month-old baby inside.
After the woman left the vehicle a man got in. As he drove off the young girl was able to escape, but the baby remained trapped inside.
The infant was found shortly after, uninjured, on the doorstep of a house in Guinevere Gardens, Cheshunt, and police were called.
The car was later found abandoned in Coopers Walk, Cheshunt.
