A company director caught selling nearly 1,500 fake mobile phone cases has been handed a suspended jail sentence.

Abdul Butt, 55, of Nettleden Avenue, Wembley, was prosecuted by Enfield Council after market stalls selling the phone cases were found to have been supplied by his company.

Officers visited his company address in Nobel Road, Edmonton and discovered 1493 phone covers were fake Apple Ed Hardy and Blackberry products.

Butt, who had previously been banned from trading, was sentenced to three months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid community service.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £2,000 and was made subject to a £1,493 confiscation order as the cases were destroyed.
