Man arrested over fatal Ponders End scooter crash

A man has been arrested by police investigating a crash in Ponders End on Monday, which left a scooter driver dead.
The man, in his 30s, is currently being questioned by detectives at a north London police station in relation to the crash, which happened at 6.30am at the junction of Meridian Way and Picketts Lock Lane. The scooter driver, a 45-year-old man from Hertfordshire, was killed in the crash.
He had passed stationary traffic as he travelled south along the A1055, before the collision with a white Peugeot van travelling in the opposite direction. The driver of the white van stopped at the scene.
Police have not yet informed the victim's relatives of his death or carried out formal identification. A post mortem is due to be held today at Haringey Mortuary.
