Dance troupe Unorthodox has been crowned the winner of Edmonton’s Got Talent 2014.

The group won a public vote on Saturday after they went head-to-head with the three other finalists, after they had all won their respective heats in the competition, which is supported by the Enfield Independent.

Unorthodox faced competition from singer Davis Elike, dancer Kai Lief, and Victoire Wankosi, who had won the fourth heat earlier that day with another dance performance.

After watching the finalists’ performances, the crowd were asked to cheer and clap for their favourites and the winner was Unorthodox, which took home the £250 prize.

Edmonton Green Centre manager Roger said: “Week one winner Davis Elike was one of the best vocalists we’ve had in the competition. Week two winner Kai Lief gave a superb performance, worthy of a place in our final four. Week three winners Unorthodox impressed us with a new routine, an absolutely outstanding talent, which drove the audience wild. Finally, week four winner Victoire Wankosi’s performance was full of attitude and energy, he’s sure to go far in the future”.

The fourth and final heat in the competition saw 24 acts take to the stage at the shopping centre in front of judges Mr Allen, Larissa Eddie and Melissa Baker.

Ten-year-old Victoire came first, ahead of second place duo Jhaleisjha and Humaira, and a group of three to eight-year-old dancers known as Mini Steppaz, who came third.

The three previous winners then retook the stage along with Victoire to see who would be crowned the overall winner.
