Tottenham Hotspur target Memphis Depay has turned down the offer of a new contract at PSV Eindhoven, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 20-year-old impressed during the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign, and while he isn’t opposed to staying in the Eredivisie, he has yet to commit his future either.
Mauricio Pochettino has made no secret of the fact he wants to strengthen the Spurs squad before the transfer deadline and Depay is believed to be one of his major targets, along with Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Depay is rumoured to want to wait until after the transfer deadline before making a decision on his future, amid significant interest from Tottenham although he is contracted currently until 2017.
Last month Spurs were reportedly keen on a player plus cash deal for Depay, with Nacer Chadli believed to be the player they were willing to let leave the club, but the Belgian international was not interested in the move.
