Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed he was “angry” and “disappointed” with today’s 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion.

Pochettino carved a disgruntled figure throughout the match and admitted that he was unhappy with the display.

A James Morrison header after 74 minutes sealed a 1-0 win for the visitors and left Tottenham with no win in three Premier League games.

He said: “We moved the ball very slowly, in football you need to play quickly and West Brom played deeper to recover the ball. The way that we played was wrong.”

Pochettino showed his discontent frequently during the match as his side failed to create many clear cut chances during the game.

He said: “I am angry and very disappointed because we played very badly and the team showed they were nervous. I think a draw was a fair result but in the end we made a mistake and lost.”

Tottenham looked sluggish during the game, something which the Spurs manager admitted he was “surprised” by.

Spurs took 16 points from a possible 36 in league games directly after matches in the Europa League last season and have now lost two out of three this time around.

However, Pochettino failed pin their loss on their Europa League exploits after playing in Belgrade, Serbia, three days ago.

He said: “It is not an excuse; I think we made ten changes so this is not an excuse. I believed we was in a good condition to play today.

“Sometimes in football we make mistakes in our ways of playing but we need to analyse the video and our players feel uncomfortable on the pitch today.”

Tottenham’s busy schedule continues with a Capital One Cup match against Nottingham Forest at White Hart Lane before a trip to the Emirates Stadium to face rivals Arsenal next Saturday.
