Enfield and Haringey Athletics Club's Callum Wilkinson marked his Great Britain debut in the with a personal best at the European Cup for race walking, moving into Europe's top dozen juniors.
His time of 42.49 in Murcia, Spain, bettered his previous best of 44.15 and also the selection qualifying time for the European Junior Track and Field Championships being held in Sweden in July.
Covering the first kilometre in 4.22, the young athlete occupied 25th position in the 43-strong field.
Wilkinson reached the 5km mark in 21.27 and improved to 17th and walked the second half of the race slightly faster than the first (21.22) to finish 12th overall.
Spaniards Diego Garcia in 40.38 and Pablo Oliva 41.19 finished first and third split by Frenchman Jean Blancheteau 41.11.
