After successfully running a series of Back to Hockey sessions in partnership with England Hockey, Winchmore Hill and Enfield Hockey Club want to attract more players to the sport by extending that invite further.

The club encourage anyone interested in coming back to hockey or existing players looking for a new team to join them at their Open Day this Saturday.

They are running two separate sessions for men and women to launch the new season. Existing players will go along to the sessions to play games and think about teams for the new season. However, new players are encouraged to come along and find a spot in one of their teams or, for beginners, simply try their hand with a hockey stick and get a feel for the friendly atmosphere of the club.

WH&E HC pride themselves on being a friendly and social club so players of all levels are welcome.

As the club look forward to playing league games on a brand new astroturf pitch currently being laid at Aylward Academy, the sessions are taking place on two separate local pitches they often play on.

The men's session is between 12 and 2pm at Southbury Leisure Centre in Southbury Road.

The ladies hockey session takes place between 2 and 4pm at Highlands School in Worlds End Lane.
