Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor looks set to be omitted from the club’s Europa League squad for the forthcoming campaign.

Spurs submitted their list to UEFA for the competition which kicks-off later this month and the forward was not part of the club’s announcement.

The absence of the Togolese striker’s inclusion makes it is increasingly unlikely he will be part of Spurs’ Premier League squad that they are set to announce later today.

The White Hart Lane club did their best to offload the 31-year-old during this transfer window, first allowing him to freely speak with the interested Aston Villa and West Ham, then by offering the forward a cancellation of his contract.

The former Manchester City and Arsenal man wanted a full pay-off of his current deal, which has a year left to run, immediately, however, and Spurs were less keen to pay £5million up-front.

Having been stripped of his squad number at Tottenham, it has been made clear to Adebayor that he is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

The ex-Real Madrid striker may now have to wait until January at the earliest to be playing senior football.
