North Enfield claimed their first Herts Division Two B win of the season after a six-wicket victory over Cockfosters.

Having won the toss, captain Kieron Jones elected to bowl on a wicket that looked like it would offer a little bit of help early on to the seamers.

With opening bowlers Abdul Vahid Khan bowling a customarily tight spell of three for 20 and Derrick Sanders bowling with good pace his decision proved correct with Cockfosters slipping to 37 for three after 11 overs.

A period of rebuilding followed for Cockfosters with a 71-run partnership. But North Enfield took regular wickets as their opponents were limited to 190 for eight.

For the first time this season North Enfield started their run chase well with openers Kieran Jones (45) and Stuart Halley (22) sharing a 70-run partnership.

A mini collapse ensued with North Enfield reduced to 84 for three in the 19th over.

However, like the week before, Chris Gillman (58 not out) and Ramon Baker (30) took their time to build a partnership and once they got themselves in and overcame a bit of cramp, found scoring easy.

By the time their 72-run partnership was ended when Baker was dismissed North Enfield needed just 40 runs.

Gillman and Andrew Brown (18 not out) knocked off the runs in style with eight overs to spare.

North Enfield Seconds suffered a ten-wicket defeat to Holtwhites Trinibis Seconds in Division Six B.

The side were skittled out for just 54 in 25.2 overs.

This left their opponents in control of the match and they eased to the target in just nine overs.
