North Enfield edged to a one-wicket win over third-placed Eversholt in Herts Division Two B on Saturday.

Captain Kieran Jones won the toss and chose to bowl first on what looked a very flat wicket.

Eversholt were struggling on 95 for six but recovered to post 180 for nine. Abdul Vahid Khan took two for 21 while there were important contributions from Jones (three for 42) and Tom Coughlan (three for 29).

Sam Pitcher (12) and Zach Brown (32) put on 31 for their first wicket.

North Enfield found themselves on 67 for four from 24 overs. Ramon Baker chipped in with 35 but the batting of Khan proved the difference as his powerful scoring helped take them to victory with five balls left.

North Enfield Seconds earned a draw against Abbots Langley Seconds in Division Six B.

Batting first, Abbots scored 217 for seven with Steve Maskell the pick of the bowlers taking four for 15.

The reply started badly, losing openers cheaply with just 20 on the board but a stand of 90 between Faizel Patel (67) and Richard White(39) took them to 201 for seven.
